Ralph Edwards Park is perfect for outdoor events but it cannot be reserved for a private event; it is open to the public at all times. The park features plenty of lawn, a playground, shade trees, picnic tables, a basketball court, a small circular stage under a gazebo, and a skate park that is being reconstructed in 2026.

A new boat ramp / dock at Ralph Edwards Park provides a great place for non-motorized watercraft to launch into the Rio. Be sure to read the warnings and wear life jackets any time you are in or on the river!

A fishing pond is located at the park’s west end, between the main park and the dog park.

Meeting / Group / Event Planning Info:

Ralph Edwards Park has a small circular stage and plenty of shade trees. The large park on the Rio Grande is perfect for outdoor events. It is a public park first and foremost, however, and therefore cannot be reserved in its entirety. The public is allowed to use the park at all times, including during your event. Leashed dogs are allowed and a fenced-in dog park is located on the west side, near Date Street. The Sierra County Farmers Market is held here Saturdays from June through October, and twice monthly in off-season.
