Donkey Magic Farm

1700 Corzine Street
donkey magic farm resident zeus visiting the veterans center

Meet the animals who live at the farm — currently 2 ponies (Zeus, Karl Withakay), 2 donkeys (Burrito, Taco) and a hinnie mule (Jasper).

Donkey Magic Farm provides a permanent home to smaller equines who no longer fit in their former environments. These “misfits” are gently trained to work in The Donkey Magic Farm’s community programming, which includes weekly visits to the nearby New Mexico State Veterans Home.

The Farm is run by Tracy McGowan and her team of volunteers. Occasional fundraisers are held, with proceeds going to the nonprofit EARS (Equine Allies Rescue & Sanctuary) in support of caring for the animals.

Donkey Magic Farm fundraiser parties are planned from time to time, including live music, a potluck dinner, and games of horseshoes and disc golf.

Tours of the farm barn and grounds are available by appointment. The equines enjoy human interaction and often approach visitors to say hello. Community Donkey Walks in the terrain around the farm and on nearby streets bring joy and a novel experience to walkers and those they encounter.

Text Tracy or message Donkey Magic Farm on Facebook to arrange a visit.

Donations to EARS, a 501c3, are welcome and appreciated, and go toward caring for the residents of the farm. Make donations on Paypal to EARS501c3.com@gmail.com.
