Longer-term campers ( work-campers) who will be part of the team at the small animal sanctuary are preferred, but regular and overnight campers – including their well-mannered companion animals – are welcome when space is available and reserved in advance. Well mannered children are welcome as guests, but the park is adults-only. The small companion animal sanctuary, which is operated by The Sierra County Humane Society, Inc., cares for cats and dogs until their adoption into carefully chosen loving homes. There is also a pet cemetery adjacent to the sanctuary. Work campers help at the facility for an average of 30 hours a week per couple/20 hours per single and receive a free FHU site with Wi-Fi, with an adequate allowance on electricity. Several of our spaces can accommodate rigs 40 ft and over. Our trees are young, but provide greenery and some relief in summer. The campground, located in a country setting, has a beautiful view of the Caballo Mountains and the Rio Grande Corridor. All rigs must be self-contained. The campground does not offer public restrooms or showers.
