The Piatigorsky Foundation was founded by cellist Evan Drachman to honor his grandfather, cellist Gregor Piatigorsky, one of the preeminent cellists of the 20th century. Piatigorsky believed that music is not a luxury for the elite few but a necessity of life for all.
